Abstract
In terms of passenger transport, due to the combined demand for returning home for family visits and leisure vacations before the holiday, the volume of railway passengers continues to rise. In January, the national railway passenger volume reached 369 million, an increase of 12.1% year-on-year, of which the volume of high-speed train passengers was 275 million, accounting for 74.6% of the national railway passenger volume, with a year-on-year increase of 10.6%. The national railway passenger turnover reached 144.617 billion person-kilometers, an increase of 17.6% year-on-year, of which the turnover of high-speed train passengers was 97.1 billion person-kilometers, with a year-on-year increase of 18.9%. In terms of freight transport, in January, the national railway freight volume was 423 million tons, with a freight turnover of 288.472 billion ton-kilometers. Among them, the state railway freight volume was 327 million tons, with a freight turnover of 266.489 billion ton-kilometers. From the perspective of transportation by category, containers and metal ores were sent at 7.7 million tons and 4.8 million tons, respectively, with year-on-year increases of 10.9% and 17.5%.
According to statistics, in January, the national railway fixed asset investment reached 43.9 billion yuan, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year, with 18.3 kilometers of new railway lines put into operation.
